Since our knowledge and understanding of COVID-19
is rapidly developing, so is our need for inspiration and continual listening to God speaking to us through His/Her word
FIRST ADVICE
“Wash your hands, you sinners” James 4:8
” Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8.
This one is a a bit of a stretch since the scripture is using a metaphor to describe spiritual repentance,
but if you are look for “wash your hands” because of COVID19 in the Bible this is the best quote.
And we can take it to realize we need to physically wash off any germs that harm us
and spiritually wash off (repent, and change our ways) from any sin/ bad choices that harm us.
PROTECTION from DISEASE
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease. ...
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Psalm 91
WORRY
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?
Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
Luke 12:25-26
Many people are worried about Coronavirus, but this is a time to trust in GOD.
USE OUR TIME WISELY
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12
Times of crisis are used by God to give us wisdom about the value of each day.
WORRY >>> PRAYER
“Do not be anxious about anything,
but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Philippians 4:6
Fear is natural, faith is supernatural. Remember what God’s Word says,
PHYSICAL TOUCH
And wherever He went–villages and towns and countrysides–
they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Him to let them just touch the fringe of His cloak.
And all who touched Him were healed.
Mark 6:56
Touching is a dangerous act with the fear of Coronavirus – but a touch from Jesus would heal any disease.
but Jesus' PRIMARY purpose was to heal our SPIRITUAL DISEASE
FEAR
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
Even for those who become very sick – God promises to be present with them and uphold their live with his power.
SAFETY
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; have mercy on me,
Lord, for I call to you all day long.
Psalm 86:3
Guard my life from the Coronavirus and let me see your presence with me Jesus.
DEATH
It is better to enter a house of mourning than a house of feasting,
since death is the end of every man,
and the living should take this to heart.
Ecclesiastes 7:2
God’s Word always points to death as a source of wisdom –
WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
Psalm 86:3
WORRY ABOUT PROBLEMS
"Do not worry about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7
PEACE
"Peace I leave with you;
my peace I give to you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled,
and do not let them be afraid."
John 14:27
FREEDOM FROM DISEASE
– Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits--
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion.
Psalm 103:2-4
and since Coronavirus is passed through our BREATH
breathing bad germs out from our lungs into the air (and coughing, sneezing)
then others breathing it in...
