"History of Surfing in Santa Cruz" Kim has been interviewed on National Public Radio and many other Bay Area news media Kim is co-founder of the world-famous Surfing Museum, inside the Santa Cruz Lighthouse. He will share with us some of the history of our world famousl Santa Cruz legacy of surfing in his talk. As you know, Santa Cruz is the REAL "Surf City USA" (no matter what Huntington Beach says) BECAUSE Santa Cruz was the FIRST place on the West Coast where surfing was done, taught to us locals by three Royal Princes from Hawaii. Since Hawaii was a sovereign nation at that time. They were actually three international students! For proof, check the monument at the Santa Cruz Lighthouse & Surfing Museum that says so.
